Officer Candidate Course (Reserve)

The Officer Candidate Course Reserve (OCC-R) Program exists to give college seniors and graduates the opportunity to earn their commission as a Second Lieutenant and serve in the US Marine Corps Reserve. Like candidates in the standard OCC program, you will attend Officer Candidate School for 10 weeks, then move on to The Basic School (TBS) and eventually MOS school.

After your training is completed, you will be able to pursue a civilian career during the majority of the month. In the reserves, you will only be required to serve one weekend a month and two weeks a year. Different MOS options are available in different locations, and you will be able to choose the location where you want to serve.

As a Reservist you will rate many of the same benefits as active duty Marines. These include Service Group Life Insurance, low cost health insurance, and the Montgomery GI Bill for graduate studies.

Candidates in the OCC-R program are eligible for the College Loan Repayment Program (CLRP). Under the CLRP, all of a candidate's federal college loans (up to $30,000) are repaid by the government over a period of 3 years.
