Platoon Leader's Class

1. The Platoon Leader's Class (PLC) is designed for current college students. If you are a Freshmen or Sophomore, then you will be applying for two 6-week summer sessions (one per summer). If you are a Junior, then you will be applying for a single 10-week summer session.

2. You have the option of selecting whether you want to serve in the Ground, Air, or Law component of the Marine Corps. We are the only branch of service that can offer guaranteed flight opportunities to qualified individuals.

3. You will be paid up to $5,000 (for a 10 week session) while you are in training. In addition to that, your room and board, food, and medical needs will be provided for while you are attending OCS. When you accept your commission, you will receive an inclusive salary of approximately $49,000 per year.

4. You will be offered a commission as a Second Lieutenant when you graduate from college and complete all of the program requirements. Until you accept your commission, there is no military obligation for service. If at anytime you do not feel that you want to be a part of the program and earn a commission, you may drop upon request. You must decide for yourself if the Marine Corps is right for you.

5. Once you complete a training session at OCS, you are then eligible for more than $8,000 in Financial Assistance per academic year.

6. Your work at OCS can earn you up to eight credit hours towards your bachelor's degree.
